Eurasian Lynx - Norway, Mai 2016.

We were fortunate to get a really close encounter to this amazing animal that was in a perfect attack position, ready to jump at us. This shot is by far one of our favorite pictures of a lynx.

About the name of the picture “Are you my dinner” - if you are so close to an animal, that is eyeballing, you, licking itself around the mouth and ready to jump at you, then you know that the Lynx is asking you; “Are you my dinner”. Lucky for us that we were well prepared by having a guide with us, to both guide us, and protect us for a potential attack.

The Lynx is a medium size wildcat, that can way up to 35 kg, 120 cm long and 75 cm over the shoulders. The Lynx are easy recognizable, both because of its size, but also because the pointy ears, short tail, long bag legs and the red / brown fur.

It’s incredible shy animal, and you have to be really lucky to see one.

The biggest enemy in Norway to the Lynx is wolves and wolverines - and of course humans.
In Norway the government have set down a population goal, while still allowing hunting on the Lynx. This make Norway one of few countries that allow hunting on Lynx.
