MUSK OXEN AT DOVREFJELL IN NORWAY FROM 24-28 JANUARY 2025

This wild, untamed landscape, that is covered with snow, and the majestic mountain Snøhetta, is what is going to be the frame for this photography trip, where animals like musk oxen, reindeer and arctic foxes are some of the animals that we can experience if we are lucky.
For the duration of this photography tour, we will be searching for Musk Oxes and try to capture them in the snowy environment that surround Dovrefjell in the winter. These epic creatures are one of very few that mammals that survived last Ice Age. If we are lucky, then we will also find arctic fox, moose and reindeer.
Since is in the mountain region of noway, we need to adjust everyday towards the weather conditions, since we easily can experience blistering snowstorms with temperatures below -15 celsius. Safety is both towards the weather conditions and the animals are our most important area, and we will adjust accordingly towards your safety.

RECOMMENDED CAMEREA GEAR AND CLOTHING
As for the camera equipment we strongly recommend you to bring as minimum the following
Steady tripod
Camera
Lenses between 24-600 mm. +600 mm is also useful.
Good, big camera bag, that can have all your gear, including some food, and extra clothing.
Is winter time in Dovrefjell, and we can expect everything from a calm sunny day, with temperatures ranging from -1 celcius down to -20 celsius. We can experience snow blizzard. So come prepared!
Inner layer - thin layer of wool (not synthetic material)
Middle layer - thick layer of wool (not synthetic material)
Outer layer - shall jacket, that is wind and waterproofed.
Head - balaclava or buff that is made of wool, and a warm hat. Also bring normal sunglasses and a pair of skigoogles.
Feet - Two layer of wool socks, and a pair of winter hiking boots. If you have snowshoes and poles then bring those as well, or write a note when booking, that you need to borrow this, and we will fix something for you.
Hands - Two layer gloves system, with an inner glove of wool and a thick layer of mittens. Is recommend that you can use your inner glove with your camera, without taking them off.
In addition is recommended to bring frost protection cream and suncream with you.
DEPARTURE SCHEDULE
24 Jan 2023 - at 12.00 at Oslo Airport. To 28 Jan. 2025 - at 17.00 at Oslo airport.
If you are staying a couple of nights before or after you stay in Oslo city, then we can pick you up there.

Food, beverage and personal needs. (there is kitchen in the cottage, and we will pick up a lot of food at the store that is at the nearest town 30 min drive from the cottage).
DISCLAIMER
We highly recommend that you get a travel and medical insurance. Your own domestic medical insurance and private health scheme will not cover you whilst you are overseas.
The tour is always dependent on weather, as the weather can be highly unpredictable. We will bring emergency equipment and a pulk on all hikes - in the pulk we will have emergency equipment, including first aid kit, tent, shovel, Satellite SOS device etc.
TERMS OF PAYMENT
When you reserve online a full payment is charged to your credit card. You can also contact us by email and make a partial down payment to secure your reservation.
CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY
We strongly recommend you to get a Trip Cancellation & Travel Insurance after booking your trip. If you cancel and the Workshop is otherwise filled, we will refund you the full amount you have paid towards the tuition, minus a € 45,- service charge. If you cancel and the Workshop does not fill, then you will be refunded according to the following schedule, based on the full fee of the Workshop:
Greater than 45 days from the start date of the Workshop: full refund minus € 45,- service fee.
15 days or more: 50% refund
Less than 15 days: no refund
Refunds will be paid by the same method that the original payment was made. If there is not enough people that sign up for the workshop, we will refund the amount that you have paid.
